Decorative/Dot-painted Boomerangs

The dot paintings on these boomerangs are painted by a team of artists of Australian/Aboriginal background commissioned by Waterhole Dreaming, who gurantees that this work is an original piece, created and painted by the artist who has signed it.
Every dot painting tells a story or has a meaning to it. Every line or group of dots, each colour and texture is significnt to the overall story of the lives, past and present, of the Aborigines of Northern Queensland. Here are some of the aboriginal symbols used in these dot paintings.

Cross-boomerangs & its offsprings

The cross-boomerang was used by the rainforest aboriginal people in a very limited area around Cairns in games and competitions and was painted with totemic designs.
In the skilled hands of Binjaroo the traditions of he's forbearers (Kuku Yalanji and Yedinjie tribes from the Cairns area) did come to life and the cross-boomerang gave birth to the starfish-boomerang and to the albatross-boomerang. They are returning boomerangs, good fun.
